The Primal Performance Series Plate Loaded Pec Fly is a seated chest fly that lets users overload the pecs safely, with a back pad angle that shifts the work toward the middle and lower chest. It loads with 50 mm Olympic plates on two 150 kg bullhorns, occupies 1950 × 1620 mm of floor space and is 1400 mm tall.

The handle levers rotate freely, so the arc follows each user's own shoulder mechanics instead of forcing a fixed path. That keeps tension on the pecs and takes pressure off the front of the shoulder, which is where most fly machines cause trouble.

Who it is for

• Commercial gyms that want a plate loaded fly to sit beside their presses
• PT studios programming chest isolation for physique and hypertrophy clients
• Strength and conditioning facilities needing a stable, spotter free chest accessory
• Members who struggle with dumbbell flyes and want a supported path with adjustable range

Key features

• 5 position back pad to bias the middle or lower pecs
• Free rotating handle levers that adapt the fly arc to each user's build
• Adjustable safety stops with several settings to cap the stretch at the start of each rep
• One Touch height adjustable seat in high density foam for quick shoulder alignment
• Extra long grips so hands can be placed in line with the shoulder joint
• Two 275 mm bullhorns, each rated to 150 kg

Muscles worked and training uses

A seated fly isolates chest adduction without the triceps taking over, and the decline back angles move the emphasis to the lower fibres of the pec.

• Primary: pectoralis major, with emphasis on the middle and lower chest
• Secondary: front deltoids and serratus anterior
• Isolation sets after heavy pressing to finish the chest
• Pre-exhaust work before presses for members chasing more pec growth
• Controlled, range limited flyes for clients returning from shoulder niggles, using the safety stops

Frequently asked questions

How big is the Primal Pec Fly?

Its footprint is 1950 mm long by 1620 mm wide, and it stands 1400 mm high. With about 600 mm of clear space on each side for loading and the arms swinging out, allow a zone of roughly 3.2 × 2.8 m.

How is the resistance added?

You load 50 mm Olympic plates onto its two 275 mm bullhorns, each rated to 150 kg. Plates are not supplied with the machine.

Do I need a high ceiling?

No. It is 1400 mm tall and the arms move around the body at chest height, so it fits under any standard ceiling.

What does the warranty cover?

Primal Strength lists a full commercial use warranty of 5 years on the frame, 3 years on parts, 2 years on cables and pulleys, and 1 year on pads, wearables and labour.

Do you deliver and install in Australia?

Yes. We ship Australia-wide from our Melbourne warehouse. Most metro deliveries arrive 1 to 7 business days after dispatch. The packed weight is 245 kg, so some regional addresses need a freight quote. Fill in the Ask about this machine form on this page and we will quote delivery and installation.

Does it target the upper chest?

It is designed for the middle and lower pecs. The five back pad angles let you shift between them, but for upper chest work pair it with an incline press.

Planning a chest bay? The Pec Fly pairs well with the Primal Plate Loaded Adjustable Chest Press for a press and fly combination.
