Primal Performance Series Plate Loaded Multi-Way Row
The Primal Performance Series Multi-Way Row is a plate loaded seated row with independent lever arms and three grip options, built for commercial gyms, PT studios and performance centres. It loads with 50 mm Olympic plates, covers 1768 × 1076 mm of floor and stands 1155 mm tall.
Underhand, overhand and neutral handles plus three lever arm positions give a lot of row variations from one frame, and because each arm moves on its own, weaker sides cannot hide behind stronger ones.
Who it is for
- Commercial gyms that want a versatile horizontal row on the plate loaded floor
- PT studios correcting posture and left to right imbalances
- Performance centres building upper back and shoulder strength for sport
- Members who find cable rows hard to load heavy
Key features
- Three grip positions: underhand, overhand and neutral, for different row variations
- Lever arms adjust to three positions to change the angle of pull
- Independent arms for one arm or two arm rowing
- Heavy duty steel frame with a matte black powder coated finish
- Urethane injection moulded pads with double stitched covers
- Plate loaded, with no stack or cables to maintain
Muscles worked and training uses
A seated row trains the horizontal pull, and changing grip and arm position moves the emphasis between the lats, mid back and rear shoulders.
- Primary: lats, rhomboids and mid traps
- Secondary: rear delts, lower traps and biceps
- Heavy rows for upper back thickness
- Single arm rows to balance strength between sides
- Postural work for desk bound clients
- Rear delt focused rows with a high elbow and overhand grip

Frequently asked questions
What footprint does the Multi-Way Row need?
It is 1768 mm long, 1076 mm wide and 1155 mm high. Add roughly 600 mm of clear space on all sides for loading plates and getting on and off, which works out to a zone of about 3.0 × 2.3 m.
How is the Multi-Way Row loaded?
It takes 50 mm Olympic plates on the lever arms (plates not included). There is no weight stack.
Is ceiling height an issue?
No. The machine is 1155 mm tall and you pull towards the torso, so a standard ceiling is plenty.
Can two arms be trained separately?
Yes. The lever arms move independently, so users can row one arm at a time or both together, and each side has to carry its own load.
What warranty does it come with?
Primal Strength states a full commercial use warranty of 5 years on the frame, 3 years on parts, and 1 year on pads, cables, pulleys and wearables, plus 1 year labour.
Do you deliver and install in Australia?
Yes. We ship Australia-wide from our Melbourne warehouse, and most metro deliveries arrive 1 to 7 business days after dispatch. It weighs 183 kg packed, so some regional addresses need a freight quote. Use the Ask about this machine form on this page and we will quote delivery and installation for your site.
Pair the Multi-Way Row with a Primal plate loaded lat pulldown to cover both vertical and horizontal pulling.
