Primal Performance Series Olympic Incline Bench
The Primal Performance Series Olympic Incline Bench is a commercial incline barbell press station with a set incline angle, an adjustable seat, uprights with J-hooks at two heights and 4 plate storage horns, rated to a 350 kg max user weight. Its footprint is 2004 × 1741 mm and it stands 1397 mm tall; it is almost as wide as it is long because the uprights and plate horns project out past the pad on both sides.
Incline pressing is the go to lift for upper chest and front shoulder strength, and a dedicated station saves members from building an incline setup inside a rack.
Who it is for
- Commercial gyms adding a dedicated incline press to their free weights floor
- Strength and conditioning facilities training upper body pressing for athletes
- Hypertrophy focused members who prioritise upper chest development
- PT studios with space for a matched barbell bench line
Key features
- Fixed incline angle with an adjustable seat so each lifter sits at the right height under the bar
- Two height J-hooks on each upright for safe unracking and bar rests between sets
- 4 storage bullhorns that keep plates next to the bench
- 350 kg max user weight capacity
- Premium grade steel frame finished in a double layer matte black coating
- Anti sweat upholstery on the pads, suited to busy commercial use
Muscles worked and training uses
Setting the back at an incline moves the pressing path up towards the collarbone, so the upper chest and front shoulders take more of the load than on a flat bench.
- Primary: upper chest (clavicular pectoralis major) and front deltoids
- Secondary: triceps and serratus anterior
- Incline barbell press as a primary upper body strength lift
- Moderate rep incline work for upper chest size
- Close grip incline press to bridge chest and shoulder training

Frequently asked questions
How much space does the Olympic Incline Bench take?
It is 2004 mm long, 1741 mm wide and 1397 mm high, with the width set by the uprights and plate horns. Allow about 600 mm of clear space all round for loading plates and safe access, so plan on roughly 3.2 × 2.9 m, plus room for the ends of an Olympic bar.
How do you load it and what is the capacity?
It has no weight stack. Lifters rack a 50 mm Olympic barbell on the J-hooks and load Olympic plates, which can be stored on the 4 bullhorns. Bars and plates are not included. The bench carries a 350 kg max user weight rating from Primal.
What ceiling height does the incline bench need?
The frame is 1397 mm tall. The bar is pressed up and slightly back from a reclined seat, so the highest point is well under a standard 2.4 m ceiling for most lifters.
What warranty comes with it?
Primal Strength includes a full commercial use warranty: 5 years on the frame, 3 years on parts (parts only) and 1 year on pads and upholstery.
Do you deliver it across Australia?
Yes. We ship Australia-wide from our Melbourne warehouse, and most metro deliveries arrive 1 to 7 business days after dispatch. Packed, it is 119 kg in a 1540 × 910 × 415 mm carton, so some regional addresses need a freight quote. Use the Ask about this machine form on this page to get a delivery and installation quote.
Should I buy an incline bench or use an adjustable bench in a rack?
An adjustable bench in a rack works, but it ties up the rack and takes time to set up. A dedicated incline station is always ready, stores its own plates, and frees the racks for squats and pulls.
Pair the Olympic Incline Bench with the Primal Flat and Decline Olympic Benches to complete a matched pressing line.
