Primal Performance Series 125kg Pin-Select - Ab Crunch/Back Extension
The Primal Performance Series Ab Crunch/Back Extension is a dual function pin loaded machine for weighted crunches and weighted lower back extensions, running a 125 kg weight stack in 5 kg steps. It needs 1250 × 1100 mm of floor, stands 1620 mm tall and weighs 268 kg.
One compact frame covers both sides of the trunk, so gyms get loadable core flexion and extension without giving up space to two machines.
Who it is for
- Commercial gyms wanting measurable, progressive core training
- PT studios that need two core movements from one footprint
- Performance centres building trunk strength for lifting and sport
- Members who find floor crunches or hyperextensions hard to load
Key features
- Dual function: weighted ab crunch and weighted back extension on one frame
- 125 kg pin select stack in 5 kg increments for all levels
- Compact footprint compared with two separate core machines
- Laser cut heavy duty frame with a matte black electro powder coat
- Urethane injection moulded pads with double stitched covers
- Matches the matte black finish and pad style of the rest of the Performance Series pin loaded range
Muscles worked in each mode
Crunch mode trains trunk flexion against load; back extension mode trains the spinal erectors, so one machine covers both front and back of the core.
- Primary: rectus abdominis (crunch) and erector spinae (back extension)
- Secondary: obliques in crunch mode; glutes and multifidus in extension mode
- Progressive overload for the abs, tracked pin by pin
- Low back strength and endurance for lifters and older members
- Core finishers alternating between the two modes

Frequently asked questions
What footprint does the Ab Crunch/Back Extension need?
It measures 1250 mm by 1100 mm with a height of 1620 mm. Allow about 600 mm around it for access, so a zone near 2.5 × 2.3 m.
How does the weight stack work?
A 125 kg pin select stack serves both movements, adjusting in 5 kg steps.
Do I need extra ceiling height?
No. It is 1620 mm tall and both movements happen in a seated position, so a standard 2.4 m ceiling is fine.
What warranty applies?
Primal Strength states a full commercial use warranty of 5 years on the frame, 3 years on parts, and 1 year on pads, cables, pulleys and wearables, plus 1 year labour.
Can you deliver and install it Australia-wide?
Yes. We ship Australia-wide from our Melbourne warehouse, and most metro deliveries arrive 1 to 7 business days after dispatch. Packed, this machine weighs 328 kg, so some regional addresses need a freight quote. Use the Ask about this machine form on this page and we will quote delivery and installation for your site.
Why use a machine rather than bodyweight core work?
The stack lets you add load in small, measured steps, the same way you progress other lifts. That is hard to do with floor crunches or back extensions on a bench.
Add it to a Primal Performance Series line to give members a dedicated core station.
